Why Inventory?

Having a home inventory will help you and your insurance agent get started right away on filling your claim. It will also help you file a more accurate claim. Then at tax time, your inventory may be useful when working with your tax professional to properly declair your losses.
What do you know about your belongings?
In many states you have to be able to provide proof of ownership before your insurance company will pay for an item lost in your home. Such proof is usually the Make/Model/Serial no. Do you know the serial number of every appliance in your home?
